Product Type: Pet Harnesses & Leashes

Coral reads warm without going loud, and it sits on a rope that was woven by hand rather than machine braided. The set pairs a leash finished at 5 to 6 feet with a matching collar, both in 100 percent cotton rope, both closed with solid brass.

Why Cotton Rope Feels Different In The Hand

Braided nylon holds its shape because it is stiff. This rope is 100 percent hand woven cotton, so it softens with use instead of fighting you, and it does not scorch the palm the way a thin synthetic line can when a dog lunges. The working end is spliced and whipped, a rope maker's finish that locks the strands into each other rather than relying on a glued sleeve, so the join does not creep loose over a year of walks.

Brass That Patinas Instead Of Flaking

The trigger snap and the accessory ring are solid brass. Plated hardware wears through at the pivot first, which is exactly where a snap takes its load. Solid brass has no plating to lose, so it dulls to a patina instead of flaking down to bare metal. The O ring at the handle takes waste bags, keys or a small light, which keeps one pocket free on every walk.

Coral Is Hand Dyed, So No Two Match Exactly

Each length is dyed by hand, which is why the coral runs a shade deeper in places along the rope. That is the process showing, not a flaw, and it is why the color has depth that printed webbing cannot copy.

Getting The Collar Size Right

The maker's own warning is worth repeating: these collars run small. Measure the neck with a soft tape, allow two fingers of room, and choose from the measured figure rather than from the size your dog usually wears.

Collar neck fit for the Coral cotton rope collar
Size Neck fits
Small 15 to 18 inches
Medium 17 to 21 inches
Large 20 to 24 inches

The leash comes in one length, finished at 5 to 6 feet.

When This Set Is The Wrong Buy

Cotton rope is a poor match for a dog that chews its own leash while wearing it, and for daily swimming, because cotton holds water and dries slowly. A neck under 15 inches also falls below the smallest collar in this range.

Keeping The Rope And The Brass Looking New

Hand wash in mild soap and cool water, then line dry. Never machine wash. Brass responds to mild soap and water, or to a paste of lemon juice and baking soda when you want the shine back.

Coral Set Questions

Will a rope collar like this fit a cat? This range is cut for dogs. The smallest collar starts at 15 inches around the neck, which is larger than a cat needs.

Can I buy the collar on its own? This listing is the matched pair, so the leash and the collar ship together.

Will the coral fade? Hand dyed cotton softens in tone with sun and washing. Line drying out of direct sun slows it down.
