Product Type: Pet Harnesses & Leashes

Five feet of rope carrying the whole spectrum, colored with natural dye and finished with a charm at the clip. It is 100 percent cotton, hand spliced with the ends whipped.

Five Feet, Every Color

The bands run pink through yellow to blue and green along one continuous length. Because the color is dyed into the cotton rather than printed on it, the spectrum survives the scuffing that a printed rope loses within a season.

Natural Dye And What It Costs You

Natural dye gives the softer, chalkier tone you can see against a synthetic rainbow, and it comes with a trade: the colors shift over time and no two ropes match. The maker also states that the gold hardware may fade and patina with use. Both are properties of the choice, not faults in the piece.

A Charm And A Ring At The Clip

The fitting end carries a matching dog charm and an accessory ring alongside the clip, so a waste bag roll or a set of keys rides on the leash rather than in a pocket.

Rope Thickness You Can Actually Grip

The rope is just over half an inch across. That is thick enough to close a hand around properly, which is what stops a leash cutting into the palm when a dog checks hard at the end of it. Thin cord looks neat and hurts.

Where Five Feet Is Too Short

This is a sidewalk length. On open ground, or for recall work where a dog needs to range and come back, it will feel restrictive and a long line does that job instead.

Cold Water Only On This One

Natural dye is less fixed than a synthetic one, so this leash is hand wash only, in mild soap and cold water. Warm water and machine agitation both bleed the bands into each other. Line dry away from direct sun.

Pastel Rainbow Leash Questions

Why does the gold hardware change color? The maker states the gold hardware may fade and patina over time. It is a surface change, not a structural one.

Is five feet enough for a large dog? It keeps a large dog close on a sidewalk, which is usually the point. It is short for open ground.

Will the colors bleed onto each other in the wash? They can if the water is warm or the leash goes in a machine. Cold water by hand is what keeps the bands separate.
