Yellow is the color you can still pick out at dusk, which is the practical argument for it on a leash that trails behind a dog on a dim path. The set pairs a 5 to 6 foot leash with a matching collar, both 100 percent hand woven cotton, both finished in solid brass.
Yellow Is The Color You Can Still See At Dusk
Yellow holds its brightness longer than red or blue as the light drops, which is why it turns up on safety gear. On a rope leash that means you can find the handle on the ground at the end of a winter walk instead of feeling for it.
How The Rope Is Built
The line is 100 percent cotton, woven by hand, then hand dyed so the color sits in the fiber rather than on it. The end is spliced back into itself and whipped with thread. A splice frays slowly and visibly if it ever goes; a glued or crimped end gives no warning at all.
Why The Brass Is Solid
The trigger snap and the accessory ring are solid brass rather than plated steel. Plating wears through at the pivot, the one spot under load every time the dog pulls. Solid brass simply patinas, and a lemon juice and baking soda paste brings it back. The ring at the handle carries waste bags or keys.
Measuring For The Yellow Collar
The maker's own warning is worth repeating: these collars run small. Measure the neck with a soft tape, allow two fingers of room, and choose from the measured figure rather than from the size your dog usually wears.
| Size | Neck fits |
|---|---|
| Small | 12 to 16 inches |
| Medium | 16 to 20 inches |
| Large | 20 to 26 inches |
The leash comes in one length, finished at 5 to 6 feet.
Where A Rope Set Falls Short
A pale yellow shows mud, and cotton holds water for hours after a swim. Neither is a defect, but both are reasons to look at a darker or synthetic option if your walks are wet and dirty most days. A leash chewer will also wear cotton down faster than coated nylon.
Keeping Yellow Yellow
Hand wash in mild soap and cool water, then line dry out of direct sun. Yellow is the shade that goes dull first under a machine cycle. Brass hardware cleans with mild soap and water.
Yellow Set Questions
Does the size I choose change the leash as well? No. The leash is one fixed length and the size option sets the collar only.
Is the yellow bright or muted? It is a warm, saturated yellow rather than a neon, because it is dyed into cotton rather than printed on synthetic webbing.
How thick is the rope? It is a hand woven cotton rope sized for everyday walking, comfortable to hold without gloves.
