This is a pink laid over a cream cotton core, so the color lifts and deepens along the rope instead of sitting on it like paint. It closes on solid brass and finishes with a tab rather than a padded loop.

Pastel Pink Over A Cream Core

Hand dyeing leaves the base cotton showing wherever the dye sat lighter, which is where the softness in the color comes from. No two lengths come out the same, so the one that arrives will be close to the photograph rather than identical to it.

Hand Woven, Then Hand Dyed

The rope is 100 percent cotton, woven by hand before it ever meets dye. Weaving first is why the color reaches the core: dye applied to a finished rope wicks all the way in, while a printed pattern would only ever sit on the outer strands and rub off where the rope drags.

The Snap Is The Part That Matters

Leashes almost never break in the middle. The solid brass trigger snap is the piece that takes every pull, and solid brass has no plating to grind off at the hinge. A brass O ring at the other end holds waste bags or keys.

Five To Six Feet In Practice

It is long enough to let a dog track a scent to the edge of the path, and short enough to shorten in one hand without a tangle. Anything longer belongs in a field rather than on a sidewalk.

Who Is Better Off With Nylon

Pale pink shows mud within a walk or two, and cotton stays wet for hours after a swim. If your dog is in water most days, or chews the leash while wearing it, a coated synthetic line will last longer and look better doing it.

Care For The Rope And The Fittings

Hand wash in mild soap and cool water and line dry, out of direct sun. Pale dyes are the ones that go patchy in a machine. Brass cleans with mild soap and water, or with a lemon juice and baking soda paste.

Pink Leash Questions

Why a tab instead of a loop handle? A tab coils flat, so the leash goes into a pocket rather than hanging off a hook.

Does a cotton rope leash stretch when a dog pulls? Cotton gives a little under load where a coated nylon line stays rigid, which takes some of the jolt out of a sudden lunge.

Can I use this leash as a tie out? No. It is built for walking in hand, not for tethering a dog and leaving it.
