Product Type: Pet Harnesses & Leashes

Cranberry is a red that reads deep rather than bright, which is the difference between a leash that looks smart on a gray street and one that looks like safety gear. It is 100 percent hand woven cotton rope finished with solid brass.

A Red That Reads Deep, Not Bright

The cranberry is dyed by hand into the cotton, so the tone shifts slightly along the length instead of sitting flat. A dark red also carries road dirt without showing it, which pale ropes cannot do past the first wet week.

What A Spliced End Buys You

The working end is spliced back into the rope and whipped with thread rather than sealed in a glued or crimped sleeve. That matters on the day something goes wrong: a splice loosens gradually and you can see it happening, while a crimp holds perfectly right up until it does not.

Brass Fittings, Front And Back

A solid brass trigger snap sits at the dog end and a brass O ring at the handle end. Solid brass carries no plating, so there is nothing to wear off the pivot where the load sits, and the ring gives waste bags or keys somewhere to hang.

Length And What It Suits

There is enough rope here for a dog to cast to the curb and back without you paying any out, and little enough to gather into one hand at a crossing. That balance is why this length became the standard for walking rather than for training.

Cotton Has Two Weaknesses

It soaks up water and takes hours to dry, so a dog that swims on most walks hands you a wet rope every time. And a dog that chews the leash while it is clipped on will get through cotton sooner than through coated nylon. Neither is a fault in the make, but both decide whether this is your leash.

Washing A Dyed Cotton Leash

Mild soap and cool water by hand, then line dry. A machine cycle is what pulls a hand dyed red toward brown. Brass takes mild soap and water, or a lemon juice and baking soda paste when you want the shine back.

Cranberry Leash Questions

Does this leash come with a matching collar? No, this listing is the leash on its own.

Is this length long enough for city walking? Yes, it is the standard sidewalk length. Recall work in open ground needs a long line instead.

Can I attach a second dog to it? There is one trigger snap, so it takes one dog. The ring at the handle is for accessories, not a second clip.
