Mint and turquoise across the whole tank, named for Erikousa, a small island off the north of Corfu. Both tones sit on the cool side of green, and a palette with no warm note in it is the one that actually reads as cooling rather than just as summery.

Why An All-Cool Palette Behaves Differently

  • No warm tone means no visual heat. Mint and turquoise together are read as shade and water; add one orange and the same garment reads as sunshine instead.
  • Light cloth backs it up. At 210 gsm this is a third the weight of the fleece in this range, so the shirt performs the way the color promises.
  • Stretch that returns. The elastane recovers on both the cross and lengthwise grains, so the armholes do not widen over a season of wear.

What It Is Made Of

95% polyester with 5% elastane, composition varying by up to 1%, at 6.19 oz per square yard, weight varying by up to 5%. Polyester is the right fiber for a hot-weather tank and it is worth saying why: it moves moisture to the surface where it can evaporate, while cotton absorbs and holds it against the skin.

Where This Tank Falls Short

Polyester dries fast and it also holds odor more readily than cotton after a hard day. Wash it after each wearing in heat rather than getting a second day out of it, and the problem never appears.

Cool Green Next To Warm Skin

Mint and turquoise flatter tanned and olive skin particularly well because they sit opposite warm tones. White, stone and light denim below. Avoid yellow, which turns the mint toward acid.

Heat, Fiber And Fit

Is polyester a bad choice in the heat? Not this kind. A light knit polyester wicks and dries, which is why sportswear uses it. The heavy shiny polyester people remember from cheap shirts is a different fabric entirely.

Is the mint or the turquoise more dominant? They run through each other rather than dividing, so the balance shifts across the garment instead of settling one way.

Do I take my usual size? Measure your chest and take that row. The relaxed cut plus recovering fabric means the table reads true, with no need to size up.
