What It Is Made Of

95% polyester with 5% elastane, composition varying by up to 1%, at 6.19 oz per square yard, weight varying by up to 5%. Polyester is the right fibre for a hot-weather tank and it is worth saying why: it moves moisture to the surface where it can evaporate, while cotton absorbs and holds it against the skin.

Where This Tank Falls Short

Polyester dries fast and it also holds odour more readily than cotton after a hard day. Wash it after each wearing in heat rather than getting a second day out of it, and the problem never appears.

Cool Green Next To Warm Skin

Mint and turquoise flatter tanned and olive skin particularly well because they sit opposite warm tones. White, stone and light denim below. Avoid yellow, which turns the mint towards acid.

Heat, Fibre And Fit

Is polyester a bad choice in the heat? Not this kind. A light knit polyester wicks and dries, which is why sportswear uses it. The heavy shiny polyester people remember from cheap shirts is a different fabric entirely.
