A Soft Edge Is Harder To Print Than A Sharp One

• Feathering needs continuous tone. Sublimation lays a true gradient into the cloth, where a screen or vinyl process has to fake softness with dots or simply cannot do it.
• Soft edges never look worn. A design with hard boundaries shows its age when the boundary starts to break up. There is no boundary here to break.
• Rust against white keeps the gradient readable. A mid tone against white gives the feathering enough contrast to be seen without the transition looking abrupt.

The Cloth Behind The Gradient

95% polyester with 5% elastane, composition varying by up to 1%, at 6.19 oz per square yard, weight varying by up to 5%. The fabric stretches and recovers on both the cross and lengthwise grains, and it is precision-cut and hand-sewn after printing, which is what lets the gradient cross a seam without a step in it.

The White Areas Are Real White

Where the rust thins out the cloth is genuinely white, not off-white, so it marks like any white garment. Deodorant is the usual culprit at the underarm on a tank, and it lifts easily if it is dealt with rather than left through several wears.

Rust Sits With Autumn Colours

Even on a summer garment, rust behaves like an autumn tone: it works with tan, olive, brown and cream far better than with bright colours. That makes this the tank in the range that carries into September rather than stopping at the end of the heat.

Gradient, Marks And Sizing

Will the feathering look pixelated up close? No. The gradient is dyed into the fibre as continuous tone rather than built from dots, so it stays smooth at any viewing distance.

Is the back feathered too? Yes. The whole garment is printed, front and back, because the cloth is printed before it is cut.

Does it run small? No, it runs relaxed. Take the row your chest measurement lands on and do not size up, or the armholes will sit too wide.
