Astypalaia Unisex Tank Top

Astypalaia is an island in the Dodecanese, and the tank is named for the colour of the water there. This is a pale aqua, not a deep sea blue, and the difference is the whole design: shallow water over pale sand reads almost white at the edges and green in the middle, which is exactly what the wash does across the garment.

95% polyester with 5% elastane, composition varying by up to 1%, at 6.19 oz per square yard or 210 gsm, weight varying by up to 5%. That is a genuinely light cloth, roughly a third the weight of the fleece hoodies in this range, and it is the reason the tank works in real heat rather than only looking like it should.

Pale Cloth In Summer

A light colour on a hot day is the right choice and the harder one to keep clean. Sunscreen is the specific problem, because it transfers at the shoulder and neckline and sets if it is left, so a same-day rinse matters more here than on a dark garment.

What Goes With Pale Aqua

White, stone, sand and light denim. The colour is soft enough that it does not fight anything, and it is one of the few prints in this range that can sit next to another pattern without a clash. Skip strong turquoise on the bottom half; the near miss shows.

Weight, Fit And Colour

Is it see-through? At 210 gsm with a pale colour, hold it up to strong light and you will see through it, as you would any light summer knit. Worn normally it is not, but that is worth knowing before it arrives.

Should I size up for a loose fit? No. The cut is already relaxed and the fabric recovers, so the table reads true to size. Sizing up gives a tank that gapes at the armhole.

Does the print continue on the back? Yes. The cloth is printed before the panels are cut, so the wash runs across the whole garment rather than sitting on the front.
