Denim shorts that you can actually sit down in after a big lunch: the Braelynn shorts have a high, elastic paperbag waist with a drawstring tie, roomy pockets and a cuffed hem, in a clean medium wash. They look like classic jean shorts from a few feet away and feel far easier than any fixed waistband.

  • Paperbag waist. Elastic gathers the top of the waistband into a soft ruffle that sits high and snug.
  • Softer denim blend. Cotton with polyester, 10.6% viscose and 1.7% elastane drapes more gently than rigid denim.
  • Cuffed hem. A turned-up hem gives a finished edge that does not fray.

Denim Shorts With an Elastic Waist

Denim shorts are one of the biggest summer searches there is, and most of them come with a fixed waistband that decides your whole day. An elastic paperbag waist removes the sizing gamble: it stretches to fit and the drawstring pulls it in, so the shorts stay put whether you are standing, sitting or cycling.
