Product Type: Door Mats

A swan on the wide twenty-four by thirty-six inch mat, white against water. The most formal artwork in this size.

White Artwork On A Doormat

  • Pale subjects need dye depth. White areas on printed goods go dingy first. Dyed felt holds the tone instead of drifting toward a dull off-white.
  • Contrast does the work. A white bird against darker water reads from a distance in a way a mid-tone subject never does.
  • Wide format, formal entrance. Three feet suits a front door with a proper approach rather than a back step.

Where It Suits

This one belongs at a front entrance, under a portico, or in a hall where the floor is plain enough to let it breathe.

It reads as considered rather than casual, which is unusual for an entrance mat.

Cleaning Takes Two Minutes

  • Do hose it, or use a power washer
  • Do sweep it with a broom for dry dirt
  • Do vacuum on the floor setting
  • Do spot clean with a mild cleaner
  • Skip anything that foams heavily, since the residue holds new dirt
  • Skip the stiff brush, which lifts the nap
  • Skip the carpet setting on the vacuum, built to pull pile up
  • Skip bleach entirely

Protecting The Whites

The pale areas are the ones that show soiling and the ones a rinse restores fastest. Neither is a problem if there is a rhythm to it.

Under cover the white stays white. In an exposed spot it will gray more quickly than the darker areas fade.

Worth knowing: clean it before you store it, not when you unpack it. Dirt left in felt over months sets in a way that fresh dirt never does.

Questions About The Swan Mat

Is a white design practical outdoors?
Under cover, yes. The dye holds and rinsing restores it. In an exposed spot where the ground breaks up in wet weather, deeper colors make for an easier life.

What color is the water behind the bird?
It is painted in cool tones that read as water rather than as flat color, which is what gives the white bird its contrast.

Can I use a stain remover on it?
A mild cleaner on the spot, yes. Anything containing bleach will lift the surrounding dye and leave a worse mark than the stain.

Does the mat come with anything to hold it down?
No, and it does not need it. The stamped rubber underside is the whole mechanism.
