Product Type: Door Mats

A cheetah in full stride through dry gold grass, running the length of the wide twenty-four by thirty-six inch mat. The whole animal, not a crop.

Motion Needs Room

  • A full body needs length. An animal mid-stride only works if there is space in front of and behind it, which is what three feet of width buys.
  • Gold grass hides dust. Sun-bleached straw is very close to the color of what shoes bring in, so the surface reads clean between washes.
  • Grip across the whole base. The rubber underside is stamped rather than smooth, and on a mat this size that surface area matters.

Suits A Long Approach

A wide mat works best where people arrive along its length rather than stepping onto it from one corner.

Double doors, garage entries and covered walkways all give it that run.

Cleaning Takes Two Minutes

  • Do hose it, or use a power washer
  • Do sweep it with a broom for dry dirt
  • Do vacuum on the floor setting
  • Do spot clean with a mild cleaner
  • Skip anything that foams heavily, since the residue holds new dirt
  • Skip the stiff brush, which lifts the nap
  • Skip the carpet setting on the vacuum, built to pull pile up
  • Skip bleach entirely

Dyed In Alabama

Design, manufacture and dyeing all happen in the United States, at the company's own plant.

Running the dye in house is what allows a long gradient like this grass to stay even from one end of the mat to the other.

Sun Is The Variable

Nothing about the build minds weather. What decides how long the gold stays gold is how many hours of direct sun the spot gets.

A north-facing or covered position keeps the contrast between the cat and the grass strong.

Worth knowing: wash it on grass rather than on a pale patio. Dyed felt runoff can leave a shadow on light stone that takes several rains to clear.

Questions About This Cheetah Mat

Does the artwork run edge to edge?
Yes, the dyed image covers the full felt surface within the black binding tape on all four sides.

Will it curl at the corners?
Not in normal use. Corner curl usually means the mat has been stored folded; laying it flat under weight overnight resolves it.

Is the surface rough on bare feet?
Felt rather than bristle, so it is firm but not abrasive. It is noticeably kinder underfoot than a coir mat.

How does it handle a windy porch?
The mass and the stamped rubber keep it down. A mat this size has enough weight that wind lift is not usually an issue.
