Product Type: Door Mats

A llama on the wide twenty-four by thirty-six inch mat. The larger format, for a doorway a small mat leaves looking bare.

Where The Extra Width Goes

  • Two people, not one. Three feet lets two people stand on the mat at once, which is what a wide entrance actually needs.
  • More felt, more caught. Surface area is the whole mechanism of an entrance mat. Doubling it roughly doubles what gets stopped.
  • Dye through the fiber. The picture is inside the felt rather than on it, which is why traffic wears rather than erases.

Suits A Broad Entrance

Double doors, French doors, a wide covered step or a garage entry all suit this size.

Beneath one standard door it runs past the frame on each side, which suits a porch and crowds a hallway.

Cleaning Takes Two Minutes

  • Do hose it, or use a power washer
  • Do sweep it with a broom for dry dirt
  • Do vacuum on the floor setting
  • Do spot clean with a mild cleaner
  • Skip anything that foams heavily, since the residue holds new dirt
  • Skip the stiff brush, which lifts the nap
  • Skip the carpet setting on the vacuum, built to pull pile up
  • Skip bleach entirely

Dyed, Not Printed

Color enters the polyester felt at the fiber level rather than resting on its face, all of it done at the Alabama plant.

Printed goods surrender the picture where feet land. Dyed goods surrender felt instead, and the artwork thins evenly with it.

Underneath The Picture

Reinforcing material fills the space between the dyed face and the grip layer, and that is what keeps three feet of mat from rippling.

Ripple is what turns an aging mat into something people trip on, so the internal build matters more at this size.

Worth knowing: alternate two mats rather than running one continuously. Felt recovers loft when it rests, and rotation roughly doubles how long each looks new.

Questions About This Llama Mat

Is twenty-four by thirty-six a common size?
It is the standard large entrance format, sized for double doors and wide steps rather than for a single narrow doorway.

Does the mat need airing after rain?
Always let it dry before it returns to the floor. Damp felt held against a surface is what marks the boards beneath.

How does it behave on decking?
Well on flat boards. On heavily ridged decking the rubber grips less evenly, so a flat section is the better spot.

Is the artwork centered?
The composition is laid out for the full width of the mat rather than being placed as a panel in the middle.
