Product Type: Door Mats

A panda on an eighteen by twenty-seven inch mat, black and white against green. The simplest palette in this size and the most graphic.

Black And White Wears Differently

  • Two tone artwork stays legible. There are no mid tones to muddy, so the image holds its shape as the felt ages.
  • White areas need a rhythm. The pale fur is the part that shows dirt, and it is also the part a rinse restores fastest.
  • Textured underside. The rubber is pressed with a pattern rather than left flat, which is what stops the mat traveling.

Suits A Plain Doorway

Graphic artwork sits best against a plain background. A painted door and a neutral floor let it read as intended.

It fits a single door and passes under a normal swing at about a quarter of an inch.

Cleaning Takes Two Minutes

The white areas tell you when it is time. Rinse before dirt sets rather than after, and the contrast comes straight back.

  • Do hose it, or use a power washer
  • Do sweep it with a broom for dry dirt
  • Do vacuum on the floor setting
  • Do spot clean with a mild cleaner
  • Skip anything that foams heavily, since the residue holds new dirt
  • Skip the stiff brush, which lifts the nap
  • Skip the carpet setting on the vacuum, built to pull pile up
  • Skip bleach entirely

How The Image Is Made

The picture goes into the polyester felt at the company's Alabama dye house, rather than being printed onto a mat made somewhere else.

Dyeing puts the color inside the fiber. That is why walking on this artwork wears the felt down rather than scraping the image away.

Under Cover Is Better

Sheltered placement protects the green ground, which is the part that shifts first in strong sun. The black and white are more stable.

Worth knowing: do not fold it for storage. Felt takes a crease at a fold line and the mark stays visible; roll it with the rubber outward instead.

Questions About The Panda Mat

Does the white part stain permanently?
Not usually. Most marks lift with water pressure and a mild cleaner. Bleach is the one thing to avoid, since it strips the dye around the mark instead of lifting it.

Is this a good indoor mat?
Yes, and indoors the pale areas stay clean far longer. The rubber base grips hard floors well.

How sharp is the outline of the artwork?
The dye is driven into the fibers, so edges are slightly soft rather than knife sharp. At normal viewing distance the image reads cleanly.

Can it be machine washed?
No. Neither the rubber base nor the layers above it will survive a machine drum.
