Product Type: Hats & Caps

A red structured cap with a curved visor. Structured is the word doing the work here, and it means the crown holds its shape with nothing in it — the opposite of an unstructured dad cap, which collapses the moment it comes off your head. A structured crown stands up on a shelf and looks the same on day two hundred as on day one.

What Structured Six-Panel Actually Gives You

  • The front stays upright. A stiffened front panel is what keeps the cap's profile from folding flat, which is the single most visible difference between a cap that looks new and one that does not.
  • Six panels curve better than five. More seams mean a rounder crown that follows the head rather than sitting on it as a dome.
  • Six embroidered eyelets ventilate it. Stitched rather than punched, so they will not tear open at the edge the way a raw eyelet can.

Sizing, And What The Supplier Publishes

Two sizes, S/M and L/XL, covering a head circumference of 22 to 23⅞ inches (55.9 to 60.6 cm) between them. The split between the two sizes is not published, so the practical rule is to measure round your head just above the ears: at the lower end of that range take S/M, at the upper end take L/XL. The elastic stretch band is what makes that judgement forgiving, because it absorbs the difference rather than forcing an exact match.

The Blend And Why It Has Spandex

63% polyester, 34% cotton and 3% spandex twill. The spandex is unusual in a cap and it is there for the band: a twill with a little give moves with the head instead of pressing a line into your forehead after an hour.

A Closed Back Means One Thing

There is no snapback or buckle. The fit is set by the size you choose and the elastic band, and it cannot be adjusted after that, which is the trade for a clean back with no hardware digging in when you lean back in a seat.

Before You Choose

How do I pick between S/M and L/XL? Measure your head just above the ears. The two sizes together cover 22 to 23⅞ inches, so the lower half of that range points to S/M and the upper half to L/XL.

Is the back adjustable? No. It is a closed back with an elastic stretch band, so the size is chosen rather than adjusted.

Does the visor come flat or curved? Curved, and pre-shaped rather than flat-packed, so it arrives with the bend already in it.
