Gray and teal sweeping across a linen-feel case, with orange running through it. Gray is the reason this one is easy to place: it is the only cushion in the range built on a neutral, so it adds texture and interest to a room without committing that room to a colour.
A Neutral Base Changes What A Cushion Can Do
- It works with a sofa you already have. Gray sits against almost any upholstery, where a saturated ground has to be matched to it.
- The teal and orange are accents, not the subject. They give the eye something to find rather than dictating the palette of the room.
- Neutral cushions survive redecorating. A gray-based piece stays usable when the walls change; a strongly coloured one often does not.
Construction And Sizes
100% pre-shrunk polyester with a linen-feel weave at 8.1 oz per square yard, in 18 by 18, 20 by 12 or 22 by 22 inches. Hidden zipper in the seam, and a shape-retaining insert included with every size.
Gray Shows Dust More Than Colour Does
A mid gray is the shade on which household dust and pet hair are most visible, more so than either a dark or a bright ground. The case unzips and goes in the machine, which is the practical answer, and the reason a removable cover matters more on this colourway than on the others.
Where It Belongs
This is the one to buy if the room is already decided. It fits into an existing scheme rather than starting one, and it is the safest of the six to buy without seeing the room it is going into.
Practical Answers
Is the gray warm or cool? Cool, which is what lets the teal sit beside it without the two fighting, and what makes the orange read as a genuine accent.
Can the cover go in the washing machine? Yes. The case is machine washable; the insert inside it is handwash only.
Does it come with the insert? Yes, in every size, matched to the case it ships with.
