What Arrives In The Box

• A printed case and a shape-retaining insert. Both are supplied together, so the cushion is usable the moment it is unpacked.
• The insert is matched to the case. Buying an insert separately means choosing between one that leaves the corners limp and one that strains the seams. Here that decision is already made.
• The case comes off. A hidden zipper means the cover can be removed and washed while the insert stays.

Why Polyester With A Linen Feel

The case is 100% pre-shrunk polyester at 8.1 oz per square yard, 275 gsm, woven to give the texture of linen. Real linen would take this print poorly, because sublimation dye bonds to polyester and not to plant fibre, so a genuine linen cushion in this design would fade. The linen-feel weave is how the texture survives alongside a permanent print.

Vertical Grain On A Square

The grain runs top to bottom rather than across, which gives a square cushion an upright reading and stops it looking like a block of colour. On the 20 by 12 inch lumbar size the same grain runs the short way, which changes the effect: on that shape the design reads as texture rather than as direction.

The Care Split Nobody Mentions

The case is machine washable and the insert is handwash only. They are not cared for the same way, and putting the insert through a machine is what flattens the loft that makes a cushion look full. Unzip, wash the cover, leave the insert alone.

Do I need to buy an insert? No. A shape-retaining polyester insert is included with every size.

Is the back printed too? The design is printed on the front face of the case, which is the face that shows on a sofa or a bed.

Will the zip be visible? No. It is concealed in the seam rather than sitting across the back, so the cushion reads as a closed piece from every angle.
