Product Type: Decorative Pillows

A peacock on a fourteen inch square pillow, blues and greens carrying the design. The widest color range in the small format.

Three Colors In One Image

  • Blue, green and gold together. Holding three saturated families side by side without them muddying is the whole difficulty of this design, and fixed dyes are what manage it.
  • Compact, so it stays an accent. Fourteen inches keeps a busy image from taking over a seat.
  • Generously filled. More filling than the size strictly needs, sealed in place, which is what keeps the shape crisp.

Giving It A Plain Setting

A dense image needs quiet around it. On a plain chair or a neutral bench it reads properly; among patterned cushions it competes.

The small size helps here, since the artwork gets attention without dominating.

Looking After It

  • Do treat marks in place with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner
  • Do work from the outside of a mark inward
  • Do air dry it
  • Do shake it by hand every few weeks to restore the loft
  • Skip the washing machine; the sham and insert are one piece
  • Skip direct heat, which sets stains and stiffens fabric
  • Skip leaving it out in heavy rain

What The Fabric Handles

Water resistant polyester takes damp air, an evening shower under cover, and the occasional spill.

It is not built to be soaked, and heavy rain asks the fill to hold water it releases slowly.

Worth knowing: do not store it inside a plastic bag. Sealed polyester traps humidity against itself and the fill comes out flat and smelling of the bag.

Questions About The Peacock Pillow

Do the colors look as vivid in person?
They read as painted rather than as printed, with the blues carrying most of the weight. Indoor light shows them at their deepest.

Is the design busy up close?
There is a lot happening, which is why the compact format suits it. At fourteen inches the detail resolves without crowding.

How does it handle a humid climate?
Water resistant fabric is well suited to it. Air the pillow after a humid stretch even if it feels dry to the touch.

Can I use it on a swing seat?
Yes. Its size and weight suit a swing better than a large pillow, which tends to slide off as the seat moves.

Does the tail appear in the design?
The composition concentrates on the bird itself rather than on a fully fanned display, which is what allows it to work in a square.
