Product Type: Decorative Pillows

A yellow Labrador across an eighteen inch square pillow. A dog painted at the size that carries the length of a room.

Scale Suits The Subject

  • A big dog on a big pillow. Labradors are broad-headed and heavy through the chest, and the larger format is what lets the painting show it.
  • Warm coat, forgiving fabric. Golden tones sit close to the color of the hair the breed sheds, which is quietly practical.
  • Full size, fully filled. The larger format carries proportionally more filling, which is what lets it hold a sofa corner.

Where Eighteen Inches Goes

This size anchors the corner of a sofa or a wide bench and works as genuine back support rather than as decoration.

On a narrow chair it dominates, so a deep seat is the right home for it.

Looking After It

  • Do treat marks in place with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner
  • Do work from the outside of a mark inward
  • Do air dry it
  • Do shake it by hand every few weeks to restore the loft
  • Skip the washing machine; the sham and insert are one piece
  • Skip direct heat, which sets stains and stiffens fabric
  • Skip leaving it out in heavy rain

A Dog In The House

Water resistant polyester takes damp fur, drool and the occasional paw far better than a cotton weave.

Marks respond to a mild cleaner on a cloth, so the pillow itself never goes in a machine.

Worth knowing: wipe the furniture dry before you put the pillow back after rain. Damp seat slats transfer their line into fabric and the mark is slow to fade.

Questions About The Labrador Pillow

Is the dog painted as a puppy or an adult?
An adult, with the broad head and heavy build that reads as the breed rather than as a generic pale dog.

Does eighteen inches fit a standard sofa?
Comfortably. It is the size most sofas are designed around and it holds its shape as back support.

What about shedding season?
It copes better than most. Hair rests on the surface instead of burying itself in a weave, and lifts off easily.

Can it be used outdoors year round?
Under cover, yes. Bring it in for winter and it will keep its loft far longer than if it sits out through the cold.

Is there a smaller version of this size?
This listing is the eighteen inch format. Check the title and the specifications on any pillow page for the exact dimensions before ordering.
