Product Type: Decorative Pillows

A dove on a fourteen inch square pillow, painted in soft whites and grays against a quiet ground. The gentlest subject in the range.

Pale Subject, Practical Fabric

  • White holds because the dyes are fixed. Pale artwork on ordinary fabric goes dingy within a season outdoors. Color fast dyes are what keep this one clean-looking.
  • Three piece construction. The sham is sewn from three panels rather than cut from one, which is why the corners fill out instead of pointing.
  • One item, not two. It ships complete, which removes the usual problem of a cover that never quite fits its filler.

Suited To A Quiet Room

Soft artwork works where the surroundings are calm. A neutral sofa, a pale bench, a bedroom chair.

Fourteen inches reads as an accent rather than as a statement, which suits the subject.

Looking After It

  • Do treat marks in place with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner
  • Do work from the outside of a mark inward
  • Do air dry it
  • Do shake it by hand every few weeks to restore the loft
  • Skip the washing machine; the sham and insert are one piece
  • Skip direct heat, which sets stains and stiffens fabric
  • Skip leaving it out in heavy rain

Outdoors Or In

Water resistant polyester means a covered porch is entirely within its range, and so is a sunroom or a living room.

Standing rain is what to keep it out of, since the filling absorbs water it then gives back slowly.

Worth knowing: keep it out of sprinkler overspray. Repeated light wetting leaves mineral marks on pale fabric that a spill never would.

Questions About The Dove Pillow

How white is the bird against the background?
The dove is the lightest element and the ground sits a step darker, which is what gives the painting its separation.

Does pale fabric show dirt quickly?
It shows marks sooner than a dark fabric, and releases them faster too. Prompt spot cleaning keeps it looking new.

Can I put it on an outdoor daybed?
Yes, under cover. Bring it in for heavy weather and it will keep its color and its loft for years.

What is the fill made of?
Polyester, shaped to the sham and enclosed rather than loose. It recovers its loft when shaken out.

Does it come in a gift box?
It ships as the pillow itself rather than in presentation packaging, so allow for that if it is intended as a present.
