Red, pink and blue splatter on a one-piece. The detail that matters most on any swimsuit is the one people are too polite to ask about: what happens when it is wet. Thin swimwear turns translucent in water. This suit has a double-layer front, which is the construction that prevents it.

Why A Lined Front Is Not A Luxury

  • Two layers stay opaque wet. A single layer of stretch fabric thins as it stretches and wets, and light passes through it. Doubling the front removes the problem entirely.
  • It smooths as well as covers. The second layer sits between you and the outer fabric, so the surface reads even rather than following every line beneath it.
  • The print stays on the outside. Only the outer layer is printed, so the lining adds coverage without dulling the colour.

A Busy Print Is Practical Here

Splatter across three colours breaks up the surface more than a plain suit or a simple block does, and on swimwear that is genuinely useful: a broken pattern disguises the creases and pulls that any close-fitting wet garment develops as it moves.

The Specification

82% polyester with 18% elastane at 6.78 oz per square yard, chlorine-resistant, four-way stretch recovering on both grains, zig-zag stitching. Scoop neck, low scoop back, cheeky through the seat.

What Lining Does Not Fix

The double layer is at the front only. The back is a single layer, as it is on almost all one-pieces, so the same rule applies there as to any swimsuit: it is a swimsuit, not a bodysuit, and it is designed for water rather than for standing in bright light.

Practical Answers

Is it see-through when wet? The front is double-layered specifically to prevent that. The back is a single layer, which is standard construction for a one-piece.

Does the lining make it hot? Only at the front, and swimwear is worn wet, so the extra layer is not noticeable in the way an extra layer of everyday clothing would be.

Will the colours run in a pool? No. The dye is bonded inside the fibre, so chlorinated water has nothing on the surface to lift.

Size Guide

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Measure your chest at its fullest, your waist at its narrowest and your hips at their fullest, keeping the tape level. Take the size your largest measurement lands on. A one-piece has to clear all three at once, and if you fall between sizes anywhere, take the larger.
