Blue and orange brushwork, and on this one you can see the brush. The strokes have direction and a beginning and an end, which is what separates a painted design from a digitally generated one: the marks were made in a sequence and the shirt keeps the record of it.

You Can See The Hand That Made It

  • Individual strokes stay legible. Sublimation holds the tapering edge where a brush lifted off the surface; a coarser print method turns that into a hard line.
  • Direction gives the shirt movement. Marks that travel read as energy, where a scattered or symmetrical pattern reads as wallpaper.
  • The colour is permanent. Dye inside the fibre means the brushwork cannot crack, fade at the shoulder or lift where a bag strap rubs.

The Cloth Behind The Brushwork

95% polyester with 5% elastane, composition varying by up to 1%, in a premium mid-weight jersey with four-way stretch that recovers on the cross and lengthwise grains. A knit that recovers keeps the brushstrokes reading as the artist drew them; a fabric that stretches out permanently distorts them. Blank components in the US and Mexico are sourced from the US, EU components from Lithuania.

Wash It Like Any Shirt

Cool machine wash with like colours, and that is the whole routine. There is no graphic to wash around, which is the standing advantage of a print that lives inside the cloth.

Two Colours, One Decision Already Made

Blue and orange cover both a cool and a warm register, so the outfit around it does not need to pick a side. Charcoal, black, stone and white all sit under it. Skip a strong blue on the bottom half: the shirt already owns that end of the palette and a near miss reads worse than a contrast.

Brushwork, Placement And Chest Size

Will my shirt have the same strokes as the photograph? The artwork is the same, but each garment is cut from a printed length, so the strokes fall at a slightly different place. Two shirts are recognisably the same design without being identical.

Can you feel the brushstrokes? No. The texture is visual only. The surface is smooth jersey everywhere, printed and unprinted alike, because the colour is in the fibre rather than on it.

Does the cut run true to size? No. The step from M to L is nearly five inches while the rest are about three, so a 40 to 42 inch chest needs L rather than M.

Size Guide

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Run a tape around the fullest part of your chest with your arms down, keep it level, and match the figure below. Read this table before you order your usual size. The jump from M to L is nearly five inches, far wider than the gap between the other sizes, so a chest of 40 to 42 inches needs L rather than M.
