Everything Rests On The Outline

• The pose has to be legible instantly. With no face, no shading and no texture, the shape either reads as a guitarist in the first second or it fails.

Yellow Is The Least Forgiving Ground

A bright yellow shows marks earlier than any other colour, and on a jersey the collar and cuffs go first. Deal with a mark the day it happens rather than after several wears, because time is what turns a mark into a stain on a pale ground.

One Loud Colour Is The Limit

Black, charcoal, indigo or white below it. Yellow is the most assertive colour a wardrobe holds and a second bright note anywhere in the outfit means neither of them wins. Black on the bottom half also echoes the silhouette without repeating it.

Contrast, Care And Sizing

Is the black a true black? Yes, and it needs to be. A softer dark grey would lose the edge definition that a silhouette depends on entirely.

Does the yellow go through to the back? Yes. The ground carries around the whole garment; the silhouette sits on the front.

Which size should I take? The row your chest measurement lands on. The cut is regular, so it reads true to size, and going up one gives a loose shirt rather than a slightly roomier one.
