Three Details Doing Real Work

• The tape takes the load off the neckline. Pulling a shirt over your head stresses the back neck, and a taped shoulder line carries that force across the shoulders instead of into the collar.
• A ribbed collar recovers. Rib knit is a stretch structure rather than a stretch fibre, so the collar returns to its width without needing elastane in it.
• Ring-spun cotton is smoother. The spinning process twists and thins the fibres before they are made into yarn, which produces a finer, softer thread than standard cotton and a shirt that does not feel coarse.

Cotton Rather Than A Blend

100% cotton behaves differently from the polyester garments in this range, and both directions matter. It breathes better and it creases more. It is the more comfortable shirt in heat and the one that needs more attention out of the wash.

Regular Fit Means What It Says

The cut follows the body without being tight and without hanging. It is the shape that layers most easily, under a jacket or an open shirt, because there is neither excess fabric to bunch nor tension to show through.

What Cotton Will Not Do

It will not stay crisp through a long day the way a polyester knit does, and it holds moisture rather than moving it, so it is the wrong shirt for a workout even though it is the right one for a warm afternoon.

Before You Order

What is shoulder-to-shoulder taping? A strip of fabric across the inside of the back neck joining the two shoulder seams. It stops the neckline stretching out of shape over time.

Will 100% cotton shrink? Cotton can shrink slightly on a first hot wash. Washing cool is what keeps the fit as it arrived.

What does ring-spun mean? The fibres are twisted and thinned before spinning, producing a finer and softer yarn than standard cotton, which is what gives the shirt its smoother surface.
