The Tweed Double-Breasted Blazer in Coral Cream is a tailored jacket in a multi-tonal tweed, cut with peak lapels, a defined waist and gold-tone buttons stamped with a lion's head. Tweed in coral rather than in the usual gray is the decision that makes it interesting.

What Tweed Does That Plain Cloth Cannot

Tweed is woven from yarns in several shades at once, so the surface reads as one color from across a room and as a mix up close. That is depth a flat cloth cannot produce, and it is why a tweed jacket photographs better than its price suggests.

It also hides wear. A textured weave absorbs the small marks and creases that show immediately on a smooth finish.

How Coral Behaves in Tailoring

Coral is a warm mid-tone, which puts it between a neutral and a statement. Against cream, white and camel it reads as a soft accent; against navy or black it reads as the only color in the outfit and carries the room on its own.

Measure the bust at its fullest with the tape level under the arms, the waist at its narrowest, and the hip around the widest point, keeping the tape snug but not tight and taking every figure over what you intend to wear underneath.

A crossed front needs the chest figure right in a way a single-breasted jacket does not. Add whatever you intend beneath before reading the row.

Before You Order

Does tweed itch? It should not. BYMANYC states it builds without animal fiber, so this is a blend rather than wool, and the scratch people associate with tweed comes from the wool rather than from the weave.

Are both button rows functional? One row fastens and the other mirrors it, which is how a double-breasted front has always been built.
