Tailored Blazer

A tailored blazer differs from a soft jacket in one respect that decides everything else: the shape is built into the garment rather than taken from the body wearing it. Internal structure at the shoulder and a waist that narrows deliberately mean the jacket holds its line whether it is worn over a shirt, a knit or nothing much at all. That is what lets one blazer carry an outfit from an office to a dinner without changing anything else, and it is also why the fit through the shoulder has to be right before anything else is judged.
