A wallet with an AirTag slot works best when the slot shows on the outside, and on Douglas it does. Douglas is TORONATA's pop up wallet in calf leather by TORONATA's description: a round window cut into its face for an Apple AirTag, a pop up card case underneath, eight card slots, a large and a small bill section and a snap closure, at 3.15 by 3.94 by 0.98 inches.

  • Tracker on the face. A stitched round frame shows the tag and lets you reach it.
  • Pop up card case. One push on the lever lifts the stack for a quick pick.
  • Finger-push window. TORONATA cuts one opening for sliding out the card you use most.
  • Eight card slots. Plus two bill sections, so cards, a license, notes and receipts stay in order.

AirTag Slot and Pop Up Case

An AirTag slot plus a pop up case covers the two moments that matter most with a wallet: paying and losing it. The case gives you your cards in one motion at a register. The window holds an AirTag so that, paired with an iPhone, the wallet appears in Apple's Find My app if it slips out of a jacket. Apple sells the tag on its own; Douglas gives it a home where it neither falls out nor hides under cards. TORONATA shapes the window to the tag, which measures 1.26 inches across.

Do RFID Blocking Wallets Work

TORONATA lists Douglas as RFID blocking, meaning the card section is shielded so a tap card cannot be read through it. A shield of this kind is meant to stop the short-range signal a contactless card uses, so expect to take a card out before you tap it. What it cannot do is protect a card you have pulled out to pay, and it has no effect on the AirTag, which works on Bluetooth from its own window on the face.

Eight Leathers, Pastel to Antique Brown

Tan carries a burnished finish that is darker at the edges, black is the classic, and the gray is a cloudy charcoal. Light Blue and Pink are soft pastels, rare in a men's style wallet and easy to spot in a bag. Red is a deep, burnished crimson. Vegetal Tan is a mottled natural leather, and Antic Brown is a waxy dark brown with paler streaks along its folds. At just under an inch thick, any of them fits a front pocket.

Douglas Wallet Daily Carry

Where should the AirTag sit when I carry it? Facing out, as the window holds it. Bluetooth passes through leather and fabric easily, so it finds the wallet in a jacket or a purse just the same.

How do the bill sections differ? The large one takes notes folded once; the small one is the place for receipts and the odd folded bill, so the two never mix.

Is a pastel wallet practical? Light Blue and Pink show denim dye more than dark shades do, so keep them out of the pocket of new jeans and wipe them now and then with a dry cloth.
