Cumin is the boldest material in this entire collection and it is sitting right in the middle of this one. Warm, faintly animal, unmistakably spice rather than perfume, it is the note that turns a pleasant citrus opening into something with a pulse. Nobody wears this by accident.

  • Sandalwood underneath. Creamy warmth that carries it for hours.

What Cumin Brings

Spice notes in fragrance usually mean cinnamon or pepper, safe and warm and familiar. Cumin is something else: closer to skin than to a spice rack, warm in a way that reads as human rather than as decorative. It is the reason this composition is memorable and the reason it is not for everyone, and both of those are worth knowing before the bottle arrives.

The Green Tea Balance

Left alone the cumin would dominate everything. Green tea runs next to it, cool and slightly bitter, and violet and rose add a soft floral edge on top. The three together hold the spice in place, and the result reads as texture rather than heat. Take the tea out and this would be a very different fragrance.

Before any of that, the opening is simple and sunny: bergamot orange, lemon and mandarin, about as straightforward as citrus gets. An open bottle loses fragrance to the air faster than most people realize, and the alcohol carries the lightest notes off first. Cap it straight after spraying, and if the bottle came in a box, keep the box. Between the cap and the cardboard, a fragrance stays close to how it smelled on the first day for several years rather than several months.
