Cold, sharp and slightly medicinal against grapefruit and mandarin, it makes the opening feel genuinely chilled rather than merely fresh. Then tobacco arrives underneath it, which is the last thing anyone expects.

Cold at the Top

Mint does something no citrus can manage on its own: it registers as a temperature rather than a smell. The first few minutes of this feel physically cool, which is why it holds up in summer when heavier fresh fragrances turn cloying. Grapefruit and mandarin sit behind it doing the fruit work.
