Some prints whisper; this one shows up with a cocktail in hand. The Brynleigh is a tropical floral babydoll dress with a shirt collar, buttons running from the collar to the waist, short puff sleeves and two tiers that bounce as you walk. It comes in two versions: a green ground crowded with pink, yellow and orange blooms, and a pink version where red and orange flowers sit on white.

  • A shirt collar. The collar and buttons give a loud print a tailored edge.
  • Two tiers. The skirt widens twice, which adds swing without adding length.
  • Green or pink. Green reads lush and saturated; the pink version is lighter and brighter.

Large Prints and Plain Partners

A print this big works best with everything else switched off. Pick one color from the flowers and keep the rest neutral: a cream wide-brim hat, tan sandals, a straw bag. A large-scale print is often easier to wear than a tiny one, because the eye reads the whole shape of the dress instead of tracking busy little details.

The two colorways suit different settings. The green is the vacation dress, at home beside palms and a pool. The pink and white version is softer and works for a spring brunch, a baby shower or a birthday lunch.

Buttons, Collar and a Resort Mood

The button front borrows from the shirt dress. Leave the top button open for an easy collar, or fasten it for a neater look with small gold earrings. Over a swimsuit, it doubles as a cover-up that still looks like an outfit at the beach bar.

Gathered puff sleeves add shape at the shoulder and leave the arms free. The two tiers swing out from a seam just under the bust and stop above the knee.

It comes in women's S (4/6), M (8/10), L (12/14) and XL (16/18), so a size 10 orders the M and a 14 orders the L. Choose by bust, since the skirt is loose from the chest seam down.

Which colorway is easier to wear? The pink and white one. Its lighter ground goes with more shoes and bags, while the green is the bolder statement.

Can I belt it? A thin belt at the tier seam works, though the dress is designed to swing loose and looks most relaxed without one.
