Product Type: Sweaters

The Alani is a crewneck star sweater in three colorways that wear the stars differently. The oatmeal version, listed as Khaki, keeps its white stars on the sleeves and leaves the front plain; gray carries big black stars across the front, and green scatters white stars over the body and arms.

  • Oatmeal for subtle: stars only show when you move your arms, so a necklace still has the front to itself.
  • Gray or green for bold: large stars across the front do all the talking.
  • All-polyester knit, 100% polyester, so the colors stay true wash after wash.
  • Drop shoulder that keeps it relaxed with jeans or a skirt.

Picking a Star Sweater Colorway

A star sweater can look playful or polished, and the colorway decides which. The oatmeal one is the quiet option: a heathered neutral with stars down the sleeves, worn in the photos with jeans and a turquoise necklace. Gray with black stars is graphic and works like a black and white print. Green with white stars is the cheerful one, especially good with denim. Choose by how much attention you want; the cut and fit are the same in all three.

Polyester Holds Color

Polyester fibers are dyed through rather than on the surface, which is why this knit keeps its color long after a cotton sweater would fade. The black stars stay black and the green stays green, even with regular washing. It also dries fast and keeps its shape, so a cool wash and a short air dry are all it needs. Each letter size covers two women's numeric sizes: S is 4 and 6, M is 8 and 10, L is 12 and 14, and XL is 16 and 18.

Static on Dry Winter Days

All-synthetic knits build static in dry, heated air, and the stars will not stop it. Mist your palms with water and smooth them over the sweater before heading out, or keep a dryer sheet in your bag and run it lightly over the knit. Both take seconds and keep the sweater from clinging to tights or lifting your hair.

Stars on a Crewneck Knit

Which colorway looks most grown-up? Oatmeal, because its stars sit on the sleeves and the front stays plain. Under a camel coat only the cuffs show stars, which reads as a nice detail rather than a statement.

Do star sweaters go with skirts? Yes. A denim mini or a pleated midi both work; the drop shoulder and relaxed body balance a fuller skirt, and a tuck at the front keeps the waist visible.

Is a polyester sweater warm? Warm enough for fall days and layered winter outfits. Polyester traps heat well but breathes less than cotton, so it suits cold weather better than a warm, crowded room.
