From the front it is a denim mini skirt; behind the panel, it is shorts. The Cielo denim skort comes in a soft acid wash, light blue or black, with an elastic drawstring waist, side slits on the skirt panel and pockets. It has the charm of a jean skirt with none of the careful sitting a real mini requires.

  • Skirt front, shorts back. The front panel falls like a mini while the back reads as shorts, so bending and sitting stay simple.
  • Acid wash pattern. The bleached marbling is irregular, so no two pieces share exactly the same pattern.
  • Elastic drawstring waist. A pull-on waist adjusts with the cord instead of a button and zip.

Denim Skort or Denim Skirt?

A denim skort is the more practical choice for a busy day, and its search results are mostly product pages because shoppers already know what they want. The skort keeps the jean-mini silhouette while built-in shorts handle the wind, the bike, the playground and the beach steps. You never have to think about how you sit, which is the whole point.

How Acid Wash Is Made

Acid wash is created by tumbling denim with stones soaked in a bleaching agent, so the bleach hits the fabric unevenly and leaves high-contrast swirls of light and dark. The light blue version looks summery and slightly retro; the black version turns charcoal and gray where the bleach landed, which gives it a cool, worn-in edge. Both hide everyday marks better than a solid dark denim does.

It is cut in women's numeric sizes 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16, even sizes only. The waist is elastic, so pick the size that fits your hips and let the cord do the rest.

Light or Black Skort Styling

Light blue is made for white tanks, gingham tops, straw bags and sandals. Black works with gray tees, band tees, a denim jacket in a lighter wash and chunky sneakers. With 2% elastane in a 72% cotton and 26% polyester blend, the skort has enough give to move without losing the crisp look of real denim.

Will acid wash keep fading? The bleaching is done before you buy it. A cold wash with the skort reversed keeps the contrast, while the denim itself softens with wear.

Does a tucked top work with an elastic waist? Yes. Pull the drawstring snug first, then tuck a fitted tee; a loose sweater looks better half-tucked at the front.
