Aqua is the color of the pool in every one of these photos, and the dress was clearly shot to match it. The Roselyn is a tiered midi dress in an abstract print of pink, cobalt and sunny yellow brushstrokes on an aqua ground, with a V-neck, short puff sleeves and a smocked waist that sets the skirt swinging.

  • Creases hide here. Brushstrokes break up the surface, so travel wrinkles vanish into the pattern.
  • Shoulders stay covered. Short puff sleeves cover the top of the arm without clinging to it.
  • Waist marked by smocking. A stretchy band sits at the waist and the tiers fall from there.

An Abstract Print for Suitcases

Abstract prints are the most forgiving pattern you can pack. A busy, irregular surface hides the soft folds a suitcase leaves, along with the odd splash from a poolside drink, where a solid aqua would show every line. It is cut from 100% polyester: light, quick to dry and happy to be rolled rather than folded.

Roll it around a sweater or a towel in the case and it comes out with gentle bends instead of sharp creases. It comes in women's S (4/6), M (8/10), L (12/14) and XL (16/18), so a size 10 orders the M and a 14 orders the L. With a smocked band at the waist, let bust measurement and shoulder width decide between two sizes.

Aqua Midi on Vacation

Does the brushstroke pattern wrap around the back? Yes, the strokes run all over the dress, so it looks just as good walking away as it does in a photo from the front.

Can it go from beach to dinner? Swap flip-flops for a flat leather sandal, add gold earrings and a clutch, and the same dress reads dressed for a restaurant terrace.

Will chlorine or sun fade it? Polyester holds color well in sunlight. Rinse it in cool water after a day near pool water, since chlorine left to dry in any fabric is what dulls a print over time.
