Product Type: Pajamas

A satin pajama set is the easiest way to make an ordinary night feel looked after, and this one keeps the classic shape: a short-sleeve button-front top with a notched collar and chest pocket over relaxed shorts, edged in crisp white piping. The satin is 96% polyester with 4% elastane, so it drapes like satin and still has a little give.

  • Stretch satin. 4% elastane gives the shoulders room when you reach or turn over.
  • Piping sharpens it. White edging outlines the collar, cuffs and hems on every color.
  • Three colors. Black, dusty blue and sage green.
  • XS through 2X. XL is cut in the sage only.

Silk or Satin Pajamas

Satin is a weave, not a fiber, and this set is polyester satin. The practical gain over silk is that you can wash it at home, the color holds, and it never needs a dry cleaner. Silk breathes more and costs far more to keep. If you want the look and the slide of silk for everyday sleeping, polyester satin is the sensible choice.

Is Satin Good for Pajamas

For most sleepers, yes. A smooth satin face creates less friction against sheets, so the set does not twist as you turn, and it is gentler on hair that rests on the collar. The trade is moisture: polyester does not soak up sweat the way cotton does, so satin pajamas suit an air-conditioned or cool room better than a hot, humid one. Shorts with short sleeves keep this set on the cool side of that line.

Matching the Shorts and Top

Be Wicked publishes one size chart across its sleepwear, and the figures are body measurements in inches, so measure yourself rather than a garment.

Size chart, measured in inches
Size Bust (in) Waist (in) Hips (in)
XS 32 to 34 23 to 25 34 to 36
S 35 to 36 26 to 27 36 to 38
M 37 to 38 28 to 29 38 to 40
L 39 to 40 30 to 31 40 to 42
XL 41 to 42 32 to 34 42 to 45
1X 43 to 44 35 to 38 45 to 47
2X 45 to 48 38 to 41 48 to 51

Black and dusty blue run XS, S, M, L, 1X and 2X; sage adds an XL between L and 1X. Choose by the bust row for the top, and check the hip column for the shorts.

Piped Satin Set Colors and Care

Why dry it out of the sun? Be Wicked asks for a separate hand wash in cool water and drying out of direct sunlight. Sun fades dyed satin and can yellow white piping, so a shady spot keeps both crisp.

Which shade hides creases best? Black. Creases in satin show as streaks of reflected light, and a dark color reflects less of it than dusty blue or sage.

Can it be ironed? The care list says no iron, no dryer, no bleach and no dry cleaning. Hang it straight from the wash and most creases drop out as it dries.
