Solvent free is the specification that separates a gel from a polish, and most people buy one without knowing which they have. Luxio Shy is 100 percent gel, which means nothing in the bottle evaporates on its way to being cured.

What Solvent Free Actually Changes

A polish dries because its solvent leaves. A gel hardens because light triggers a chemical reaction. The first process pulls moisture out of the nail plate on its way past; the second does not, which is why a solvent free system is the one recommended for a client who is in color continuously.

Odorless Over An Eight Hour Day

The same absence of solvents is why there is nothing to smell. That reads as a small thing on a product page and it is not a small thing in a treatment room, where the tech breathes the same air over every set of the day.

It Applies Without Running

A creamy body means the gel stays where the brush puts it rather than flooding the sidewalls. On a shade this soft that matters more than it would on a dark one: a line of product in the cuticle shows up as a shadow on a pale nail long before it shows on a black.

Photographs Will Not Settle The Shade

Luxio says it plainly and it is worth repeating: image colors read differently to the bottle in your hand. On any soft neutral, screen calibration and lighting move the tone more than the product does. Look at swatches on real nails rather than at flat lays.

Where A Soft Shade Is The Wrong Pick

Pale neutrals show every imperfection in the plate beneath, so a ridged or discolored nail needs a camouflage base under it first. They also show regrowth less, which is a benefit, and chips more, which is not.

What does 100 percent gel mean here? There are no solvents or thinners in the bottle, so nothing evaporates. It hardens by light alone.

How long under a UV lamp? Two minutes under UV, or 30 seconds under LED.

Will it look like the photograph? Close, but soft neutrals shift with lighting and screens. Judge it from swatches worn on nails.
