A mane is the hardest thing to sculpt at this scale, because it has to read as separate hair rather than a collar of plastic. These are all males, every one of the 192, which is worth knowing before a bag arrives for a savanna scene that also wanted lionesses. The mane is cut in deeply enough to catch shadow at paperclip length.
- All male, all maned. One sculpt repeated, so there are no lionesses in the bag.
- Mane cut deep. Individual strands are visible instead of a smooth collar.
- Paperclip length. Roughly one inch from muzzle to tail tip.
- 192 in the bag. Enough to fill a diorama and hand the rest out.
One Sculpt, Repeated
Bulk bags contain a single mold rather than an assortment, which is the point when you need a matched set and a limitation when you wanted variety. For a class handing one to every child, identical is exactly right; for a scene that needs a pride, it is worth pairing this bag with another animal.
Where the Detail Survives
Painted detail at an inch wears from handling at the raised points first. Sculpted detail does not, and on these the mane and the tail tuft are shape rather than paint, so a figure that has been through a hundred small hands still reads as a lion.
Questions About the Lion Minis
Are there any lionesses? No. Every figure in the bag is a maned male from the same mold.
How long is one figure? Roughly one inch, which is about a paperclip laid flat.
Can they be washed? Warm water is fine. Anything gritty will scrub the painted faces dull.
