Yellow and red painterly print on a heavy fleece with drawstrings and overlock seams throughout. The seams are the part nobody looks at and the part that decides how long the garment lasts, and on a knit this heavy the choice of seam is not a detail.

Why Overlock Matters On Heavy Knit

  • It stretches with the cloth. An overlock seam moves as the fabric moves, so reaching and pulling the hoodie over your head does not put the load onto a rigid line of stitching.
  • It finishes the raw edge in the same pass. The edge is enclosed as it is joined, which is what stops a fleece from shedding fibers into the seam allowance over time.
  • Shoulders are where hoodies fail. Pulling a heavy garment on and off loads the shoulder seams more than anything else it does in its life.

Warm And Red, Which Is A Choice

Yellow and red together are the hottest pairing in the range, and on a 300 gsm garment that visual warmth matches the actual warmth. 70% polyester, 27% cotton and 3% elastane at 8.85 oz per square yard, weight varying by up to 5%, with a cotton-feel outer face and a brushed fleece interior that holds warm air in the raised fibers.

Drawstrings And What They Are For

The hood carries standard drawstrings, which matter on a garment this warm: closing the hood down in wind is the difference between a fleece that works outdoors and one that only works standing still. Pull them out before washing if you want them to stay even, because a drawstring that migrates inside the channel is a nuisance to thread back.

Nothing Warm Underneath It

Black, charcoal, indigo and stone. Red and yellow have taken every warm note the outfit can carry, and adding another leaves nothing to push against. Plain dark footwear finishes it.

Seams, Warmth And Fit

Will the seams show through on the outside? No. Overlock seams sit inside and lie reasonably flat, so they do not print through the face of the fabric the way a bulky flatlock can.

Is this warm enough to replace a jacket? In dry cold, for many people yes, because 300 gsm is roughly double an ordinary sweatshirt. In wind or rain it is not, since fleece has no windproof layer and holds water once wet.

Which size should I take? The one your chest measurement lands on in the table, not the letter you usually wear. The relaxed unisex cut moves the mapping.

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Go by your chest. Run a tape around the fullest part with your arms down and keep it level. Waist and hips are listed for anyone whose hips run several inches fuller than their chest, since a hoodie ends at the hip and that is where it can catch.
