Coral and teal brushwork on brushed fleece. This garment has two different surfaces and only one of them is the one you see. The outer face is a soft cotton-feel fabric that takes the print; the inner face is brushed fleece. Most hoodies use the same cloth throughout and compromise on both jobs.

• The outside behaves like cotton. A cotton-feel face holds a print crisply and does not have the slick hand people dislike in pure polyester outerwear.
• The inside is built for skin. Brushed fleece traps warm air in the raised fibres, which is why the warmth arrives immediately rather than after ten minutes of wearing it.
• Coral and teal hold each other up. A warm and a cool tone side by side keep both looking stronger than either would alone on a large garment.

The Numbers Behind The Feel

70% polyester, 27% cotton and 3% elastane at 8.85 oz per square yard, weight varying by up to 5%. The cotton in the blend is what gives the outer face its hand; the polyester is what keeps the colour permanent and stops the garment shrinking. The 3% elastane is small but decisive, because a heavy fleece with no stretch fights the shoulders every time you reach.

Brushed Fleece And Pilling

Brushed interiors are raised fibres, and raised fibres pill where they rub hardest, usually under the arms and where a bag strap sits. Washing it inside out and skipping the tumble dryer keeps that at bay. Nothing about the print needs protecting, because the colour is inside the cloth.

Coral Reads Warmer Than It Photographs

Coral shifts under light, sitting pinker indoors and more orange in daylight, which is normal for the shade. Below it, keep to neutrals: stone, charcoal, black and indigo. Avoid red and rust, which sit close enough to coral to read as a failed match rather than a contrast.

Fabric Questions Before You Order

Is the inside soft against bare skin? Yes. The brushed fleece is the surface against you, and it is the reason this garment can be worn over a vest rather than needing a full layer underneath.

Does the cotton in the blend mean it will shrink? No. At 27% cotton in a mostly polyester blend, the polyester controls the behaviour and the garment holds its measurements.

Is the print on the hood as well? Yes, on both faces of it. The hood is double lined and printed inside and out, so it shows artwork rather than blank cloth when it is down.

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Go by your chest. Run a tape around the fullest part with your arms down and keep it level. Waist and hips are listed for anyone whose hips run several inches fuller than their chest, since a hoodie ends at the hip and that is where it can catch.
