Sequin Bows, Everyday Sweatshirt

Sequins usually live on party tops you can only wear twice. Here they sit on a soft cotton blend sweatshirt, so the sparkle works for a weekday coffee as well as a night out. The bows are small and spaced apart, which keeps the effect sweet and playful rather than flashy.

The fabric is 65% polyester and 35% cotton. Cotton in the blend keeps the inside kind to skin, sparkle or not.

Light Pink or Cream

Light pink is the romantic choice and looks lovely with a denim skirt, as shown. Cream is the quieter one: the bows read as tone on tone, and it pairs with jeans, as in the cream photo, with gold jewelry and with a camel coat. For heavy rotation, cream mixes with more of a closet; if you want it to be the statement, choose pink.

Sizes run S (4 to 6), M (8 to 10), L (12 to 14), XL (16 to 18), 2XL (20 to 22) and 3XL (24 to 26) in US women's numbering.

Balancing the Lantern Sleeves

Lantern sleeves bring a lot of volume, so keep the bottom half sleek. A short denim skirt, slim jeans or leggings with ankle boots all balance the shape. The side slits let the hem part over your hips, which keeps an oversized sweatshirt from looking boxy.

Sparkle Sweatshirt Care Notes

How do you wash a sequin sweatshirt? Turn it inside out, place it in a mesh laundry bag and wash it cold on a gentle cycle. Then let it air dry flat; the heat of a dryer can warp or dull sequins.

Can I iron it? Never iron over the sequins. If the body needs smoothing, steam it from the inside, keeping the iron or steamer away from the bows.

Do sequins scratch? They sit on the outside only, so the inside stays soft. If you carry a crossbody bag, wear the strap on the side with fewer bows to keep sequins from catching.

Is a bow sweatshirt only for younger styles? No. Small bows on a soft color read as feminine and fun at any age, especially in cream with jeans and a structured bag.
