Knit Hoodie in Denim Blue

A knit hoodie sits between a sweater and a sweatshirt, and that middle ground is its charm. This one is 67% polyester, 30% viscose and 3% elastane. The viscose gives a soft, fluid drape that a fleece hoodie never has, and a little elastane keeps the ribbed hood and cuffs from going slack.

The white and denim blue combination is endlessly easy: it matches ripped jeans, as in the photos, as well as white jeans, khaki shorts and navy pants. Think of it as a coastal palette you can wear on cool nights in spring, summer and early fall.

Placket, Drawstrings and Pocket

The buttoned placket lets you set the neckline. Fully closed, the hoodie looks neat and sporty; opened, it softens into a V. The drawstrings cinch the hood on a breezy evening, and the dropped shoulder keeps the whole fit relaxed, the kind of top you can sit on a railing or crouch down in, as the model does, without anything pulling.

Sizes run S (4 to 6), M (8 to 10), L (12 to 14) and XL (16 to 18) in US women's numbering.

White Knit Wear and Care

Where does a necklace sit on a hoodie? On this one, in the V. Open the placket a button or two and a fine gold or silver chain sits in the V, below the hood and above the pocket, where it shows without tangling in the drawstrings.

Will the blue bleed into the white knit? Unlikely, with the right wash. Wash it cold, inside out, with whites and light blues only. Cold water keeps the blue from migrating into the white knit, and skipping chlorine bleach protects both colors.

Should a knit hoodie be hung or folded? Folded. Knits with viscose can stretch on a hanger, especially at the shoulders, so keep it folded in a drawer or on a shelf.

Does it suit cold fall days? On its own it suits mild days. On cold ones, wear it under a denim or utility jacket with the hood out over the collar.
