Product Type: Sweaters

The Jemma is a sweater tee: the shape of a T-shirt knitted in a light, soft yarn, with little cap sleeves, a crew neck and slits at both sides of a curved hem. It comes in white, pink and black, listed in the size menu as Jet Stream, Sachet Pink and Black.

  • Cap sleeves that cover the top of the shoulder and leave the arm free.
  • Side slits at a curved hem, so it sits easy over the hips untucked or half tucked.
  • Light acrylic knit, 100% acrylic, with more texture than jersey and less weight than a sweater.
  • Three plain colors that work as a base under almost anything.

Where a Sweater Tee Fits

A sweater tee covers the days when a T-shirt looks too plain and a sweater feels too warm. Late summer, early fall, a spring evening: a knit tee looks more finished than cotton jersey while staying cool at the arms. The photos show the white one at the beach with denim shorts and sunglasses, and the same top works with tailored pants and loafers for the office. It is the knit you can wear in more months of the year than any long-sleeve sweater.

White Knit, Smart Underneath

A light knit in white shows what is under it, and a white bra is the one that shows most, because it stands out against skin. A bra close to your own skin tone disappears under the white colorway, and that single choice makes a pale knit look polished. Pink is more forgiving, and black hides everything.

The cap sleeve also makes it a good layer under a blazer or a denim jacket: no sleeve bunching inside, just a neat line at the shoulder when the jacket comes off.

Half Tuck and the Curved Hem

The side slits are there for a reason. Tuck just the front into jeans or a skirt and the slits let the back fall freely, so you get a waist without a stiff full tuck. Worn loose, the curved hem dips a little at front and back, which looks softer than a straight-cut tee. Each letter size covers two women's numeric sizes: S is 4 and 6, M is 8 and 10, L is 12 and 14, and XL is 16 and 18.

Cap Sleeve Knit in Three Colors

Which color should be bought first? Black if you want one that works year-round with everything, white for summer and beach outfits, pink for a soft pop with jeans. Buying two colors gives you a week of easy tops.

Can a sweater tee go in the washing machine? A light acrylic knit is happy on a cool, gentle cycle. A mesh laundry bag keeps zippers and hooks from catching the yarn, and drying it flat keeps the hem from stretching.

Is a cap sleeve good for arms you prefer to cover? It covers the very top of the shoulder only. If you want more, an open cardigan or a light jacket over it keeps the look while covering the arm.
