This silk hair scarf, the Helen from ClaudiaG, is a long, narrow strip of silk, 53 by 5.25 inches, that does as much for a ponytail as it does for a neckline. There are two prints. Brown Flowers sets caramel blooms on black with a cream edge. Ochre is a patchwork of four panels: ochre with dots, brown with dots, navy with tiny flowers and cream with line-drawn florals, all inside a black border.

  • Wraps then bows. The length covers a ponytail wrap and still leaves enough silk to finish with a proper bow.
  • Kinder to hair. Smooth silk has less friction than an elastic or a cotton band, so it tugs less as it comes out.
  • Patchwork changes face. On the Ochre print, each knot shows a different panel, so the same scarf looks new each time.

Silk Scarf for Hair Styles

A silk scarf for hair works three ways at this width. As a headband, fold it in half lengthwise and tie it at the nape under the hair, leaving the tails to hang. As a ponytail wrap, tie it over a plain elastic, wind it down the ponytail and knot the ends in a bow.
