Product Type: Skincare

This peptide moisturizer is a light, fragrance-free cream for the face, the neck and the skin around the eyes, in a 2 oz (56.7 g) frosted jar. Marli Skin Care sells it under the name Rapid Wrinkle Erase and builds it on aloe leaf juice, with palmitoyl tripeptide-5, hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastin and vitamins A, C, D and E further down the list.

  • Aloe base. Aloe leaf juice is the first ingredient on the label, ahead of water.
  • No added fragrance. The ingredient list carries no fragrance or perfume line at all.
  • Face, neck and eyes. Marli directs it for all three, morning and evening, on clean skin.
  • Light under makeup. Marli describes the texture as light enough to wear beneath foundation.

What Makes It a Peptide Moisturizer

A peptide moisturizer is a cream that adds peptides, short chains of amino acids, to a classic moisturizing base. Here the peptide is palmitoyl tripeptide-5, a three amino acid chain joined to a fatty acid so it sits comfortably in a cream. Marli says Tripeptide-5 helps smooth the look of expression lines and supports the look of firmer skin. The comfort you feel on the first day comes from the base: hyaluronic acid and glycerin draw water into the surface of the skin, while squalane, dimethicone and safflower seed oil slow its escape. That pairing of water binders and softeners is what leaves skin feeling smooth rather than tight.

Reading the Marli Label

Ingredient lists run from the largest amount to the smallest, so the order tells a story. Aloe leaf juice and water form the base, followed by softening emollients and the fatty alcohols cetearyl and cetyl alcohol, which are waxy thickeners rather than the drying kind of alcohol. Collagen and elastin appear as moisturizing proteins that sit on the surface and help skin feel supple. Emu oil adds richness, and the vitamins close the list, with vitamin A in the gentle form retinyl palmitate. If you want a cream without scent, the absence of any fragrance line is the detail to check, and this label passes.

Using It Morning and Night

Marli's directions are simple: apply to clean skin every morning and evening, on the face, the neck and around the eyes. A pea-sized amount covers the face, and a second one covers the neck and the front of the chest. Around the eyes, pat a tiny amount along the bone rather than onto the lids. In the morning, follow with sunscreen as the last step. If your skin reacts easily, try a small amount along the jawline for a day before using it everywhere.

Marli Peptide Cream in Use

What do peptides do for skin? In skincare, peptides are used as messengers in a formula, included to support the look of smoother, firmer skin. They work alongside the moisturizing base rather than replacing it, which is why a peptide cream still needs good hydrating ingredients around it, as this one has.

How soon does Marli say results show? Marli says skin feels more hydrated and smoother within the first week, and that the look of fine lines and firmness changes over four to eight weeks of morning and evening use.

Is this cream vegan? No. Emu oil is on the ingredient list, so it is not a vegan formula.

How many weeks does a 2 oz jar last? Used twice a day on face and neck at about a gram a day, a 56.7 g jar lasts about eight weeks.
