A creamer has no lid, and that single absence decides everything about how it is used. An open vessel is a serving vessel and never a storage one, which is worth knowing before eleven and a half ounces of milk goes into it and back into a refrigerator.

What an Open Top Costs

Two things happen to milk in an uncovered vessel. Warm milk forms a skin as the surface proteins dry, and cold milk in a refrigerator takes on the smell of whatever is beside it, because there is nothing between the two.
