Product Type: Belts

A belt is bought by a number, and most returns happen because the number was the wrong kind. Globe is TORONATA's men's leather belt with contrast edge stitching, a solid metal tongue buckle and two keeper loops, in Tan, Black and Antic Brown and in seven lengths from 105 to 135 centimeters.

  • Contrast edge stitching. A lighter thread outlines the strap, which suits jeans, chinos and business casual.
  • Solid metal buckle. A classic tongue buckle, the kind that works with any hole and any pair of pants.
  • Two keeper loops. The tail is held twice, so it lies flat instead of curling away from the waist.
  • Holes an inch apart. TORONATA lists the spacing at about 2.5 centimeters, close enough for a fine adjustment.

How to Measure a Belt Size

How to measure a belt size: take a belt that fits you now, lay it flat, and measure from the fold where the leather meets the buckle to the hole you use. That figure, in inches, is your belt size, and it usually runs 2 inches above your pant waist. Then measure the same belt from end to end. TORONATA sells Globe by length, so the second number is the one to match: choose the Globe length closest to the full length of the belt you already own.

Globe Lengths in Inches

The seven lengths convert as follows: 105 centimeters is 41.3 inches, 110 is 43.3, 115 is 45.3, 120 is 47.2, 125 is 49.2, 130 is 51.2 and 135 is 53.1. Each step is about 2 inches, or two holes. The aim is to fasten on the middle hole, which leaves room to move either way after a big dinner or a change of pants. Between two lengths, take the longer one: a spare inch of tail disappears under the second keeper, and a belt that is too short cannot be fixed.

Contrast Stitching, Jeans and Chinos

Stitching in a contrasting thread makes a belt read as casual to business casual, the register of dark denim, chinos and an unstructured jacket. Match the leather to your shoes and the rest follows: Black with black shoes, Tan with tan or light brown, Antic Brown with darker browns and boots. TORONATA describes the belt as fitting most pant loops. For care, its advice is to spot clean with a soft cloth, use a leather conditioner now and then, and store the belt flat or hanging, never coiled tight.

Gift Sizing, Holes and Rotation

How to measure a belt size for a gift? Borrow a belt he wears and measure it end to end, then pick the nearest Globe length. Searches for belt sizing rise by half in November and December, which says how many belts are bought for someone else.

Which hole should a belt fasten on? The middle one. It centers the tail under the first keeper and gives you two holes of adjustment in each direction.

Should I wear the same belt every day? Leather lasts longer with a day off. Alternating two belts lets each dry out and recover its shape, and hanging a belt by the buckle overnight removes the curve it took at the waist.
