A sueded fleece hoodie in black heather, mustard or athletic heather. One thing about this garment is unusual enough to state plainly before you choose a colour: the fabric is not the same in all three. Black heather and mustard are 52% cotton with 48% polyester. Athletic heather is 90% cotton with 10% polyester, which is a noticeably more cotton-heavy cloth.

What The Colour Choice Actually Changes

• Athletic heather feels more like cotton. At 90% cotton it is softer against the skin and more breathable, and it will crease more readily than the blended colours.
• The 52/48 colours hold their shape longer. More polyester means less stretching at the cuffs and hem over time, and faster drying.
• Both are the same weight. 7.0 oz per square yard, 237 gsm, across every colour, so the difference is in how the cloth behaves rather than in how substantial it is.

Sueded Is A Finish

The face of the fabric is brushed to a fine short nap, which is what produces the velvet-soft handle the name refers to. It is also why this hoodie should be washed inside out: a sueded surface is raised fibre, and turning it in protects the nap from abrading against everything else in the drum.

The Construction

Side-seamed with a front pouch pocket and a dropped shoulder. Side seams are worth noting: a tubular hoodie has no side seam at all and twists on the body after a few washes, where a side-seamed garment keeps its orientation.

A Lighter Hoodie Than It Looks

At 237 gsm this is a mid-weight garment rather than a heavy one. It is a spring and autumn hoodie, or an indoor one, and it does not do the job that a heavy 300 gsm fleece does in genuine cold.

Will the sueded finish wear off? Not with normal care. Washing inside out and avoiding a hot dryer is what keeps a raised nap intact.

Is it warm enough for winter? At 237 gsm it is a mid-weight, so it works as a layer in cold weather rather than as outerwear on its own.

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Run a tape around the fullest part of your chest with your arms down and keep it level. The cut is unisex with a dropped shoulder, so it hangs away from the body rather than following it. If your chest falls where two rows meet, take the larger.
