The artwork on this pair is a painting, not a repeating pattern. Blue, orange and teal move across the canvas in brushstrokes laid down before the shoe existed: the fabric is printed flat, then cut and stitched by hand. That order of operations is why the design carries over the toe, along the side and up the ankle without stopping at a seam. A shoe printed after assembly cannot do that, because the design ends wherever the panel ends.

Why The Print Survives Longer Than A Screen Print

  • The color is inside the fiber. Sublimation dyes the cloth rather than layering onto it, so there is no film to crack, peel or fade at the flex points where a screen print always goes first.
  • The toe outlasts the rest of the shoe. The faux leather cap sits exactly where canvas wears through, so curb scuffs and doorframes hit the cap instead of the fabric.
  • The ankle is still comfortable at hour six. The collar is padded all the way round. On a high top the collar rides against the ankle bone, and an unpadded one finds it inside an hour.

The Sole Is Foam, Not Solid Rubber

A 100% polyester canvas upper on an EVA rubber outsole. EVA is foamed rather than solid, which is where the lightness comes from: it cushions and flexes with the foot without the weight of a traditional vulcanized sole. Inside there is a breathable lining and a soft insole, and the front laces through to the top of the ankle so the fit is adjustable rather than fixed.

Cleaning, And The Smell From The Box

Canvas cleans with a damp cloth and a little soap. Because the pair is glued and hand-assembled rather than molded in one piece, keep it out of a washing machine: the print would survive the cycle, but the bonded sole will not.

One thing worth knowing before the box arrives. These shoes carry a glue smell when the box is first opened. It is a by-product of hand assembly, it clears within a few days if the pair is left out in open air, and it is not a fault.

Let The Shoe Do The Talking

A print this saturated does the talking, so the rest of the outfit can stay quiet. Straight denim or plain dark pants let the shoe read as the deliberate choice it is. Cropped or cuffed hems show the printed ankle rather than hiding it, which is the whole argument for buying a high top with artwork on it.

Three Answers Before You Add To Cart

Will the print look the same on both shoes? No, and that is by design. The artwork is laid across a continuous panel before cutting, so the left and right take different sections of the painting. The pair reads as one piece rather than two mirrored copies.

Is this a good choice for standing all day? For a shift on hard floors, no. The EVA sole is light and flexible rather than structured, and there is no arch support built in. It is a walking and city shoe, not a work shoe.

What happens if the print scuffs? A scuff on the canvas takes color off the surface, and it cannot be touched up because the color is in the fiber rather than on it. This is why the toe cap matters: the part most likely to scuff is not printed canvas.
