A soft orange and pink wash across the canvas, printed flat before the shoe was cut and hand-stitched. This is the gentlest print in the range. The colours bleed into each other rather than sitting in defined strokes, so from a few steps away the pair reads as a single warm tone instead of a pattern, and it only resolves into brushwork up close.
A Print That Behaves Like A Colour
- It goes with a patterned outfit. Because the tones blend rather than contrast, this is the one pair in the range that will not fight a printed shirt or skirt.
- The dye is in the cloth, not on it. Sublimation colours the fabric itself, so there is no printed film to crack where the shoe folds at toe and ankle.
- The weak spot is covered. Faux leather caps the part of a canvas shoe that always goes first, so kerbs cost you the cap rather than the wash.
What Is Under The Print
A 100% polyester canvas upper on an EVA rubber outsole. EVA is a foamed rubber rather than a solid one, so it takes the impact out of the step and bends with the foot without adding the weight of a vulcanized sole. The collar is cushioned the full way round, which is what keeps a high top comfortable once you are past the second hour. Breathable lining, soft insole, and lacing to the top of the ankle so the fit is adjustable at the point where a high top actually needs adjusting.
Pale Canvas Needs A Habit
Clean the canvas with a damp cloth and a little soap, and on a wash this light that has to become routine rather than occasional. Keep the pair out of a washing machine. The print would survive; the glue holding a hand-assembled sole would not.
The box smells of glue when it is opened. That is hand assembly, not a defect, and it clears within a few days if the pair is left out in open air.
The One Pair That Will Not Fight A Pattern
Because the tones blend rather than contrast, this pair behaves closer to a coloured shoe than a printed one. That makes it the easiest in the range to wear with something already patterned, where the bolder prints would compete. Cream, camel, white and light denim all sit naturally above it.
Pink, Orange, And The Cost Of A Light Ground
Is this pink or is it orange? Both, and neither dominates. The two wash into one another across the shoe, so the tone shifts from more orange at one panel to more pink at another rather than splitting into two blocks of colour.
Will the pale wash show marks quickly? Sooner than a dark shoe, yes. The lighter the ground the earlier a scuff reads, which is the trade for the softer look. Wiping marks off the same day is what keeps the wash clean, and the capped toe already covers the spot most likely to take a hit.
Are the two shoes printed identically? No. The design is laid across one continuous panel and cut afterwards, so each shoe takes a different part of the wash. On a blended print like this one the difference is subtle rather than obvious.
Size Guide
Stand on a sheet of paper and measure heel to longest toe, then match the length below rather than ordering your usual number. Foot length is rounded to the nearest quarter inch, so some neighboring half sizes read the same. If you fall between two, take the larger.
