A blue abstract wrapped around glossy white ceramic. The two sizes share a diameter and differ only in height, which is the useful thing to know before choosing: 11 oz stands 3.85 inches tall, 15 oz stands 4.70 inches, and both measure 3.35 inches across.
Same Grip, More Coffee
- The larger mug is not harder to hold. Diameter is what your hand wraps around, and it is identical on both, so the 15 oz gives you a third more drink without a wider grip.
- It fits the same shelf space. Cupboard depth is governed by diameter, so the bigger mug takes no more room on a shelf, only more height.
- Height is the one thing to check. At 4.70 inches the 15 oz is tall enough to be worth measuring against the clearance under a pod machine before ordering.
Why The Print Survives A Dishwasher
The design is fired into the glaze rather than applied to the outside of it, so the surface you touch is glass-hard glaze with the image underneath. That is the difference between a mug you can put in a dishwasher and one you cannot: a printed layer on top of the glaze is what scratches, dulls and eventually lifts at the rim.
Microwave Safe Means Fully Safe
Ceramic with no metallic content anywhere in the print, so it heats evenly rather than arcing or developing hot spots. A mug with any gold or silver detail cannot go in a microwave at all; this one can.
What A Glossy White Ground Does
Gloss makes colour read brighter than the same print on a matt surface, because the glaze reflects light back through the image. The trade is that gloss also shows fingerprints and water spots more, which a matt finish hides.
Before You Choose A Size
Which size holds a standard coffee? 11 oz is the everyday mug size. 15 oz is for anyone who tops up rather than refills, or who drinks long coffees.
Will the 15 oz fit under my coffee machine? Measure the clearance. At 4.70 inches tall it is above the height of a standard mug, and pod machines vary.
Is the print on both sides? The design wraps around the body of the mug, so it is visible whichever way the handle is turned.
