Product Type: Baby Carriers

Built for the weight range where most carriers stop. Rated for toddlers of 25 pounds and up, it is the carrier you buy when the one you have has run out of capacity and the child still wants carrying.

Built For The Toddler Years

Newborn carriers are engineered for a body that cannot hold itself up. A toddler carrier is engineered for weight, and the structure that matters is the one distributing 25 pounds and more across your abdomen, waist and shoulders rather than the one cradling a head.

Back Carry Changes The Geometry

Front carrying a heavy toddler pulls you forward and your lower back compensates all day. Moving the child to your back puts the load over your spine instead of in front of it, which is why every hiking carrier is a back carrier and why this position is the one you will use once the child is heavy.

Mesh Because Two Bodies Generate Heat

A carried toddler and the adult carrying them share a surface for an hour at a time. 3D mesh is an open structure rather than a flat weave, so air moves through the panel between you instead of being trapped by it. On a warm day that is the difference between a comfortable walk and two damp shirts.

What Comes With It

An extended waist cushion and a drool cotton pad are included rather than sold alongside. The cushion is what makes a heavy load bearable at the belt; the drool pad is the part that gets washed weekly and would otherwise be the carrier itself.

Back Carry Needs Practice

Getting a toddler onto your back is a technique, not an instruction. Do it over a bed the first few times, and have a second adult present until it is automatic, because the moment of transfer is when a child is least secure. Check the manual for the maker's method, keep the child's face clear and visible, and if anything about the fit is unclear, ask your pediatrician rather than guessing.

3D Mesh Carrier Questions

Is this for a newborn? No. It is built for toddlers at 25 pounds and above, where most carriers reach their limit.

Can it be worn on the back? Yes, front and back are both supported, and back carry is the better position for a heavy child.

What is included? The carrier, an extended waist cushion and a drool cotton pad.
