What Colorblocking Does to Proportion

Measure the bust at its fullest with the tape level under the arms, the waist at its narrowest, and the hip around the widest point, keeping the tape snug but not tight and taking every figure over what you intend to wear underneath.

A skirt suit is harder to size than a trouser one, because a skirt has no give at the hip and a jacket has none at the bust, yet one number covers them both. Read the hip first here, since a skirt that does not close is unwearable while a jacket worn open is not.
